Last night, i went back to season 2 — Experiment #213: Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster
“What’s the name of this movie?”

Random Notes

◘Theres an appearance by Jerry and Sylvia (the Mole People), as Frank and Dr. F’s roadies

[Funny pre-movie joke:]
DR. F: Now, your experiment this week, Joel, features a giant bloatated mutant lizard.
FRANK: Meatloaf?

◘ For whatever unexplained reason, J&tB take forever to get into the theater
◘ During a scene of dun-dun-dunn - rock climbing! - Servo references 208 Lost Continent by saying, “Look up here. Cesar Romero and Hugh Beaumont.”
◘ Crow does a Planet Of The Apes riff 4 times
◘ Joel is great as the geeky (crazy?) guy that builds things out of garbage and random stuff — not in the same cool way he did with the Bots — with little twitches
◘ One of the few where you see Servo enter the theater with no assistance (after Segment 2)
◘ I think this movie features Japanese Bandstand

Not as great as Vs. Megalon, and odd that they only did two Godzilla flicks, and back-to-back.

PERSONAL FAVORITE RIFF

COMMANDER (to the one-eyed General): You must be losing your sight!
SERVO: I do not find that funny, sir, but go on.

Tonight was Experiment #617: The Sword And The Dragon (aka Ilya Muromets)

*This is post 1/2 for this Experiment

This episode features Crow’s satirical revue, “Supercalafragalistic-expialawacky!!!” (the way its spelled in the end credits, the ACEG spells it with ‘cali’). Oddly enough, this song is not present on any of the 3 volumes of Play MSTie For Me, nor the 2 Clowns In The Sky albums

Other notes & riffs & stuff:
Bridget and Mary Jo (using their real first names) become Frank and Dr. F’s new neighbors, having moved into Deep 12 upstairs.
CROW: A collie is keeping them in terror??
Not afraid to admit: i didnt get the Bergman sketch at all. But then, i dont know a thing about Bergman.

Earlier this evening was Experiment # 417: Crash Of The Moons (w/the short: General Hospital [1]). This was the first time they used the term ‘area’ as a euphemism for a man’s… you know… “place”.

i would have watched this as a double-feature with 413: Manhunt In Space, but i learned to late that it’s a sequel, and i dont have 413 — yet.

Tonight i thought it’d be fun to do an MST3k Double-Feature, since i havent in quite some time. So, i made it a Lee Van Cleef double-feature, featuring #322: Master Ninja I and #324: Master Ninja II. Both of these “movies” were created by putting together episodes of the failed tv series, The Master. An interesting note is that Demi Moore is in the first “movie”. Other random notes:

In 324, Servo shouts out “MENDOZAAA!!”, à la McBain in The Simpsons
He also does a “He learned too late” riff, at the start of MJI (Van Cleef was also in #311: It Conquered The World
Much like in Mitchell, we hear Servo doing some “whaka-chickah” with the film’s score
Also, at the end of 322, they use the “Master Ninja Theme Song”, rather than “Mighty Science Theater”

I read that there had been talks of doing the 3rd “movie” during season 6 of MST3k, but that idea luckily remained just an idea.

bedtime.

bedtime.

last night, i watched Experiment #314: Mighty Jack — chosen mainly for another of my favorite MST3k musical bits: Slow The Plot Down.

Last night, i made it through Experiment #318: Star Force (Fugitive Alien II). i put it off, because i knew it’d suck. the riffing was great, but the film was torture. had to love Crow’s repeated “Again??” - kept me laughing. is this episode the most use of “Hi-keeba!”? Altho the film was difficult, next time, Im gonna watch both films back-to-back, as a double-feature.

So, the other night when i worked a double (sort of), i wanted to be sure i wouldnt fall asleep between shifts. the best way to do this: watch an episode of MST3k, of course! I picked this one [mostly] at random, from the lists of each Turkey Day Marathon. Experiment #307: Daddy-O (w/the short: Alphabet Antics).

Last night, i went back to the Joel-era, and watched Experiment #310: Fugitive Alien, which i guess was really parts of different Japanese TV shows, strung together to make a film…? Did i get that correct… lol.

Now, which one to watch tonight…

this eveing, i went with Experiment #601: Girls Town

And tonight, i watched #503: Swamp Diamonds (aka Cruel Swamp | Swamp Women) — with the short: What To Do on a Date

This is the first time that i ever correctly predicted what the ‘Stinger’ would be: “Ssssssssshut up!” -Platinum blonde.

Last night, i finally decided it was time to get back to watching experiments. I have a short list of episodes to catch up on, and i began with #401: Space Travelers
