Heres another good one. Most would recognise actress Jamie Donnelly as Jan — the Twinkie-loving, somewhat heavy Pink Lady in the film version of Grease. But, did you also know that she was the first actress to play Magenta is the US? Jamie was cast as the Usherette/Magenta (the Usherette was also known as Trixie, and Trixie the Belasco Popcorn Girl in the original Broadway production). The original US Rocky Horror Show (known as ‘The Roxy Cast’), opened at the Roxy Nightclub in 1974 in Los Angeles. The show then moved to the Belasco Theatre in 1975, for the Broadway premiere. Most of the Roxy cast transferred with the show — Richard O’Brien himself stepped in as Riff-Raff. You can hear Jamie Donnelly as Trixie/Magenta on the Original Roxy Cast Recording of The Rocky Horror Show.
