so, i thought it would be fun to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (although, i downloaded it in 2D). it had its moments, but mostly just lame. sort of intresting, tho — its like they were trying to make a true sequel. the film began with bits from the original 1974 film, then picked up where it left off (either later the same day, or the next day), before jumping decades later, where the film resumes.

oh, and i like that they still continue to use that creepy camera flashbulb sound effect!

i never understood what the point was to Michael randomly killing the Elrod’s neighbour, Alice. i mean, he wasnt even in her house, so he went out of his way to go into her house to kill her for no reason.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre [1974]

watching now.

the awful remake of Last House On The Left will NEVER come anywhere near touching the original. i love this low-budget movie. Wes Craven (best known for the Nightmare On Elm Street and Scream franchises) and Sean S. Cunningham (known for the Friday the 13th franchise) teamed up for this twisted flick of brutal/fucked-up murder, rape, and revenge, back in 1972. one of my absolute favourite things about this one, is that they filmed it with mainly with hand-held cams, so it looks all documentary/reality tv-style. makes things much scarier and more realistic!Alternate Title Ideas: Sex Crime of the Century; Krug and Company; Night of VengeanceFun Fact: the character of Krug (prounounced “kroog”) was partly where Wes Craven got the name for Fred “Freddy” Krueger.

Great freeze-frame. Shame it makes you realise how fake that head is.
